Giorgio DeLuca, a school teacher turned cheese merchant, and Joel Dean, a publishing business manager, opened the first Dean & DeLuca in September 1977 in SoHo, an area in lower Manhattan, at the corner of Prince and Greene streets. In October 1988, a new flagship market was opened at the corner of Broadway and Prince Streets. Today the team at DEAN & DELUCA are proud to share their passion for food across USA, with locations in New York City; Washington D.C.; Charlotte, North Carolina; Leawood, Kansas; Napa Valley, California; and Honolulu, Hawaii.

DEAN & DELUCA commenced international expansion in 2003, taking the brand’s trademark quality and unique product selection to Japan. Subsequently, new locations have opened in Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, South Korea, Kuwait and United Arab Emirates.
